Sailing on a catamaran in Capri

Sailing along the Italian coast brings a whole new feeling, both for experienced sailors and those new to sailing. The comfortable catamaran floats along the rocky coastal landscape to the lively and colourful villages and towns where you can spend wonderful afternoons. The small islands off the coast can be reached in pleasant sailing sections thanks to the short distances, so that a different island can be visited every day.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pozzuoli

At 6 p.m., all sailors board the catamaran in the harbour of Pozzuoli near Naples. After everyone has settled into their berths, you will sail to the island of Procida (6 nm, approx. 1 h) and spend the night there in the bay of Corricella. The island has no public transport, but you can walk along small paths and stairs to the central village, the Terra Murata or the Casale Vascello. The colourful houses of the village provide the perfect backdrop for the first dinner and the first night on board.

Day 2: Pozzuoli - Sant´Angelo - Ischia Ponte

We start the day with a delicious local breakfast and a short swim. The next destination of the day is the island of Ischia, the largest island in the bay of Naples. The first stop is Maronti beach in the bay of Sant' Angelo (8 nm, approx. 1.5 h). The fashionable village and Le Fumarole beach are within easy walking distance. In the afternoon, around 4 pm, you will sail to the nearby bay of Ischia Ponte (4 nm, approx. 1 h). You will have dinner below the medieval castle and can then stroll through the alleyways.

Day 3: Ischia Ponte - Capri

In the morning we set off for the rocky island of Capri (19 nm, approx. 3 h). You can easily sail around the entire island by catamaran and admire its beauty and special features from all sides. Not only will you discover the Faraglioni rocks, but you can also visit the Blue Grotto and the many caves. The catamaran then stops at the Faro lighthouse, where you can explore the narrow streets of the town of Capri on a shore excursion.

Day 4: Capri - Li Galli - Positano

The sailing trip continues in the morning after breakfast. You will pass the Faraglioni rocks again on the catamaran and sail on towards the Amalfi Coast. At the first stop of the day, Li Galli (8 nm, approx. 1.5 h), you can take the opportunity to go swimming in the deep but particularly clear water off the Li Galli Islands (8 nm, approx. 1.5 h). The Li Galli Islands consist of three rocky and isolated islands (Gallo Lungo, Castelluccio and Rotonda), which are only a few miles from the beach of Positano, the destination for the night. According to ancient legends, they were inhabited by the sirens, who seduced sailors with their melodious voices: they lost control of their ships, which inevitably crashed onto the rocks of the islands.in the afternoon, the last leg of the day to Postiano is covered under sail (4.5 nm, approx. 1 h). The coastal landscape around Postiano is widely known for its breathtaking beauty. Stop in Positano, where the undisputed beauty of the landscape has helped to make Positano and the Amalfi Coast famous worldwide. There are also many traditional and local products to be found in this area that make wonderful souvenirs.

Day 5: Positano - Amalfi

After breakfast, the tour continues to Amalfi, passing the town of Praiani and the municipality of Conca dei Marini. A short break is of course taken at the famous Fiordo di Furore bay. Once in Amalfi, there are many sights to marvel at, e.g. the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea and the Basilica. The Alavi region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is steeped in history, which can be visited at a number of historical sites and museums.

Day 6: Amalfi - Sorrent

You should make the most of the morning and travel to Ravello. The town is easy to reach by bus, lies 300 metres above sea level and offers a breathtaking view over the Gulf of Salerno. In the early afternoon, the sailing trip continues towards Sorrento. The landscape provides the perfect backdrop for swimming in either the bay of Nerano or Marina di Puolo. You will spend the night in the Bay of Sorrento. We recommend paying a visit to this village at night.

Day 7: Sorrent - Pozzuoli

The day can begin with a swim in the bay or a stroll through the town. Later, we return to our home harbour in Pozzuoli. On the last sailing leg of the bunk charter, you can relax on board while admiring the beautiful coastline of Naples and then visit the city. The island of Nisida and the Castel dell'Ovo castle are definitely worth a visit. You will spend the last night enjoying dinner together on board in the harbour of Pozzuoli.

Day 8: Pozzuoli

After a last night on board, we say goodbye to the catamaran, to each other and to the beautiful Amalfi Coast at 9 am.

On the first evening of the sailing trip, the crew will welcome you on board with a delicious dinner. The comfortable cabins and the spacious deck area of the catamaran offer space for 12 guests plus crew. After an initial familiarisation and safety briefing, you will head straight to the first island. There you will spend the first night on board. The next morning, the catamaran leaves the anchorage after breakfast and you sail off to other fantastic destinations on your sailing holiday. At lunchtime, the cook will spoil you on board the catamaran with a delicious but light lunch and in the evening with a small culinary highlight. During the shore excursions, there is often the opportunity to eat something ashore. The days of the cruise are organised in such a way that you spend time under sail and at beautiful anchorages, but also have enough time to explore the island from the land side.
